Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning and execution of road and marine infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with engineers and construction professionals to review project designs, making adjustments as necessary to optimize efficiency.
  • Manage procurement processes for materials and equipment.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with local authorities and stakeholders to secure necessary permits and maintain open lines of communication.
  • Implement risk management strategies to identify potential project delays and mitigate unforeseen challenges.
  • Lead and mentor a team of construction professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare detailed reports on project status such as milestones achieved, and upcoming tasks.
  • Ensure environmental regulations are adhered to in all aspects of construction, promoting sustainable practices.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, ensuring a strong foundational knowledge of construction principles.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in high value roads and infrastructure or marine works projects, providing a depth of practical knowledge.
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP or LEED, indicating a commitment to professional standards and project management excellence is preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing multi-million dollar projects, showcasing the ability to handle complex financial and logistical challenges.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in both public and private sector projects, offering a versatile perspective on construction practices.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic, with additional languages being a plus, facilitating effective communication in diverse project environments.
  • Strong technical skills in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), essential for efficient project tracking and reporting.
  • Exemplary leadership abilities, inspiring and guiding teams to achieve project goals while nurturing professional development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, enabling quick and effective resolutions to unexpected challenges on-site.
  • Physical stamina and resilience, necessary for overseeing demanding construction environments while ensuring personal safety.
  • Has worked for clients such as RTA, Sharjah and Dubai Municipality, DPW and other government entities.
