Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Dubai, UAE

Company Overview: Smart Zone is a leading business setup service provider, dedicated to helping entrepreneurs and businesses establish and grow their presence in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Record Maintenance:
    • Record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
    • Maintain accurate and complete financial records in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  1. General Ledger Reconciliation:
    • Assist in the reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
    • Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  1. Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Support the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  1. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
    • Process invoices, payments, and expense reports.
    • Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable.
    • Ensure timely payment of accounts payable.
  1. Bank Reconciliation:
    • Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
  1. Payroll Processing:
    • Assist in processing payroll and maintaining payroll records.
    • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and company policies.
  1. Expense Tracking:
    • Monitor and track company expenses.
    • Ensure all expenses are recorded accurately and within budget.
  1. Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
    • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial documentation and records.
  1. Ad Hoc Tasks:
    • Assist in special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required.
    • Provide support to the senior accounting staff as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
